For attorneys
How Neighbor Legal works for you
Neighbors choose who to send their request to. Your profile is free through 2026. You answer in your own words and meet only the people who picked you.
The steps
Step 1: Create your free profile
Add your bar number, firm, practice areas, courts, languages and fees. It takes about 15 minutes, and you can save and finish later.
Step 2: We check your bar status
A person on our team checks your bar number and reads your profile. Reviews usually finish within about 1 business day.
Step 3: Neighbors send you requests
When your profile fits, a neighbor can send you their request. You see a short preview: the issue, the deadline, the neighborhood and the other side's name for your conflict check.
Step 4: You reply in your own words
Write a short personal note if you are interested, or pass. Up to three attorneys can reply to one request (two if it is time-sensitive), so your reply is seen.
Step 5: Chosen? Then you see everything
When a neighbor picks you, you see their full answers, ask your own follow-up questions and book the consult. Retainers go to your client trust account.
How matching treats you fairly
- Matches are ordered by fit: practice area, courts, language, fee range and availability.
- Ties rotate every day, so no one is stuck at the bottom.
- Plan and payment are never inputs. Neither are win rates or outcomes.
- You set a weekly capacity, a reply window and a pause switch.
- Neighbors can pick one to three attorneys, so you compete with a few, not a crowd.

Consults your way
Offer video, phone or in person. Video can link out to your own meeting tool. Phone calls go through a number that keeps both numbers private. Nothing is recorded.
Money, kept simple
The consult fee is paid at booking after you accept. Retainers go to your client trust account. You enter your own billable time and apply invoices.
Reviews you can trust
Reviews come only from completed consults, are about the process, and are read by a moderator before they appear. Averages show after three.
